This is our favorite Texas State Park! It’s pretty easy to get a lake front spot and just a beautiful setting. Several of the restrooms and showers have been remodeled for more security and privacy. However, the facilities have no AC and they have very poor ventilation. Walking into the individual shower rooms is like walking into a sauna. We were there over the 4th of July when the park was very full. It looked like the restrooms were cleaned daily. You can rent canoes and kayaks for a reasonable price at the camp store. Devil's Watering Hole is a must see! We will go back here every year!
This is the first time I’ve given a campground a 10! This fantastic campground is in a country setting. The staff is friendly and helpful, the Wi-Fi was fast and I can’t say enough about the bathrooms and general layout of the campground. The office has a well stocked store with many RV supplies. Next to the office is a club house/meeting room with a small kitchen. Off this room are restrooms and showers that also connect to the pool. It’s always nice to have restrooms and showers by the pool. The air-conditioned laundry room is also by the pool and easily twice the size of most campgrounds! Although the restrooms and showers by the pool and front office are updated, the gem of this campground is the newest restroom and shower facilities located in the center of the campground. These clean new showers are the most private secure ones we have every encountered. Each stall is a separate room with a deadbolt lock. A chair is provided in the dressing area and the shower also contains a built-in seat. A peep hole is on the door so you can see who is outside if someone is knocking on your door. I felt very safe and secure! You can tell the owners are campers themselves! If in the area we would definitely stay here again!
Beautifully landscaped campground in a country setting! The sites were big enough to meet most RV sizes. The WiFi was not extremely fast, but workable from our site. The restrooms were older, but clean. I would have liked doors on the restroom stalls instead of the saloon swinging ones and lights in the shower stalls (a little dark). The laundry room is small, but workable. A bench or someplace to sit in or near the laundry room would be nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. If in the area we would stay here again.
Nice well kept park. The sites were not extremely large, but big enough to easily fit us and the larger units around us. The restrooms were older but clean. A manned security guard is posted up by the Heartbreak Hotel parking lot. I have to agree with other posters that this did help you feel safe even though the area didn’t seem bad. The kids left their bikes out every day and night without problems. Our site was very close to the office, so our wifi was excellent! Office staff was friendly and helpful. They even let me print out a coupon for the Graceland tour. The swimming pool didn’t seem to have a light, so we had to leave when it got dark. Not many kids when we were there, maybe they were all touring in Memphis. Graceland tour is an easy walk from the campground. If in the area we would stay here again.
This is a nice park close to the action of Pigeon Forge, but out of all the noise and lights. The parking pad was level gravel and next to it was a cement patio with a picnic table. We found the site a little too tight. Our picnic table had a great view of the neighbor’s sewer. Lots of ducks and duckling roam the park. The restrooms and showers are newer looking and clean. The laundry room has AC which was a nice plus! Free wifi was available; however even though we were within two spots of the office we got a stronger signal from the neighboring campground and used theirs. The Pigeon Forge trolley stops at the campground regularly. We found the staff helpful and nice.
